Why was my password rejected?

Modified on Fri, 27 Jun at 10:33 AM

Sometimes, when signing up for a BiggerPockets account, or when changing the password to your account, the password you give can be rejected for security reasons. This can be because it doesn’t meet our complexity requirements, or because it’s a password that has been flagged as vulnerable.

We recommend that you keep yourself secure by using a different password for each website, app or service that you use. This will mean that if a different service gets hacked, your BiggerPockets password will remain secure.

We also recommend that the passwords you choose are of sufficient length (at least 12 characters is good), and are not easily guessed: don’t use common words or numbers.

A password manager app such as 1Password or LastPass can help you use secure passwords in a convenient way.
